Lewis Capaldi responds to viral Liz Truss comparison
Lewis Capaldi has laughed off comparisons between himself and new Prime Minister Liz Truss.
The 25-year-old Scottish singer shared an old picture of the Conservative MP — who has just been elected leader of the party following Boris Johnson's resignation — when she was younger and admitted he sees a similarity to himself.
Capaldi tweeted: "Why do I look like so many female politicians."

Foreign Secretary Truss, 47, was announced as the UK’s next prime minister on Monday 5 September, after beating Rishi Sunak in the Conservative Party leadership.
Truss said it had been an “honour to be elected,” and thanked her party for organising “one of the longest job interviews in history.”
BRIT award winning musician Capaldi is well known on social media for his sense of humour, as well as his colourful language.
In 2019 he became embroiled in an online feud with Noel Gallagher after the Oasis star's daughter Anais shared a picture of Capaldi kissing her on the cheek.
Gallagher compared Capaldi to Chewbacca from Star Wars.
But Capaldi made light of the jibe, donning a Wookiee mask to perform at the TRNSMT festival in 2019.
In 2020 the Before You Go singer's ex-girlfriend Paige Turley competed in ITV dating show Love Island.
Capaldi laughed it off, joking: "The prize is like £50,000 and I'll be like 'Well, listen, they asked you to go on it, right, I'm not saying I'm the reason but also... Slide me two grand'.”
"She never told me she was going on it,” he added. “That would have been a nice heads up. But fair play and good luck to her.”
Capaldi's new single Forget Me — his first new music since 2019 — is about to be release on 9 September.

The singer has been on tour since the COVID-19 pandemic, but confessed to audiences he had not finished his new album, because he was too lazy.
He told crowds in July: "I just want to say now, I have no new music to play you.
“I rescheduled a lot of shows last year because I was like, ‘Guys, I need to finish my new album’. And I was supposed to do it, but I am horribly lazy.”
