It has been 10 years since Little Mix made history as the first girlband to ever win The X Factor.

Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Perrie Edwards and Jade Thirlwall took to Instagram to talk about that moment they won, captioning the video: "10 years since we won The X Factor. The most life-changing moment ever for all of us. Thank you for all the support over the last decade xxx."

Holding up a picture of the moment they were announced as winners, alongside their mentor Tulisa Contostavlos and former member Jesy Nelson, the girls talked about how surreal it all was.

"Look at us, little babies. Wow!" Leigh-Anne said. "And you could see in our faces, we did not expect that. It's mad."

"This was the most life-changing event ever, for all of us, surely," Perrie added. "Winning The X Factor when we thought we wouldn't even make it to the first week.

"And Tulisa's face as well, I literally loved Tulisa so much. She was a rock through the whole experience. But yeah, this just makes me so happy. Look what we did."

Jade admitted she can't even remember the winning moment.

"But as you can see, I was quite animated in my expression, as we all were. Tulisa is our sister, has been and always will be, and is honestly one of the reasons why we're here and even managed to win that show.

"So, we'll always be grateful to Tulisa. We love her very much."

The show that made Little Mix stars, as well as the likes of One Direction, Olly Murs, Leona Lewis, James Arthur and Alexandra Burke, was cancelled this year after 17 years.

However, Simon Cowell reckons it'll be back at some point in the future.

"This year was the first year since we took it off the air, where I realised how much I’d really, really missed it," he told OK! magazine at a charity ball.

"And I think the public do as well. It was – and is – a brilliant show. And there's no question it will return. I think we did the right thing in resting it, as it was a huge show to produce and I think people were tired.

"When it comes back – and it will – it will hopefully be a big event."
