ACTOR Simon Callow thinks Boris Johnson is an adrenaline junkie: “The worst possible thing you can ever be as an actor or a performer.” Fresh off the stage from his press night performance of Anything Goes at the Barbican Theatre this week, Callow, right, expressed fears the PM would be a hazard on the boards. “It destroys the whole performance, everybody else’s performance and you don’t do yourself much favour.” Johnson’s need for drama defined his time in office and is the cause of his public downfall, the Four Weddings and a Funeral star said. “When they sacked him it’s kind of thrilling for him, somehow a triumph in a way because he can make a speech about it.” A case of politician spotlight fever, maybe?
