Mariah Carey: I've only slept with five people so I'm a prude

Mariah Carey has declared she is a “prude” because she has only slept with five people.

The Touch My Body singer has been married twice and has been dating toyboy backup dancer Bryan Tanaker since late 2016.

Carey was asked by Cosmoplitan magazine about her preference for dating younger men. “I haven’t had that many, but there has been a variety pack. I’ve only been with five people in my life, so I’m kind of a prude, honestly, compared to most others in the field.”

Carey was married to music executive Tommy Mottola from 1993 to 1998, and then dated singer Luis Miguel from 1998 to 2001. She married rapper Nick Cannon in 2008 and they had eight-year-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe together before their split in 2014.

The We Belong Together singer dated billionaire James Packer in 2015 and they were briefly engaged until they split in October 2016.

The diva - whose true age remains a mystery - also claimed she is not as comfortable on flashing her flesh as some of her pop rivals.

Carey said: “A lot of girls are just nude in front of everybody. No offence to them.”

The singer also spoke about her marriage to record boss Mottola who was 20 years older than her.

She said: “You might want to picture a child bride. There was a conscious effort to keep me as this all-American, whatever that means, girl. It was very controlled. There was no ­freedom for me as a human being. It was almost like being a prisoner.”

Mottola has since called their relationship “wrong and inappropriate.”

Carey said of today’s young music stars: “They have no idea what I went through as a child to even get to be an 18-year-old girl with a record deal. This was before you could just go on YouTube and sing.”
