Married at First Sight Australia spoilers follow – including the series 6 finale.

Martha Kalifatidis and Michael Brunelli’s relationship was one of the strongest matches to have come out of Married at First Sight Australia series six. But with a show that was absolutely filled to the brim with drama – from Mike and Heidi's on/off relationship, to Jessika and Dan's cheating scandal – Martha and Michael often found themselves sucked into the group’s wider problems.

The explosive final dinner party saw Martha pouring a glass of red wine over Cyrell's head, reigniting the feud that had permeated their time earlier in the show. The women had aired their differences during a previous group get-together, when Cyrell took issue with Martha's perceived involvement in rumours surrounding her own relationship with Nic.

But when she found out that there had been some truth to the other rumours, surrounding Jessika (Martha's close friend) and Dan, and that Martha had known about it, Cyrell decided to call it all out once again.

"It wasn't a spur of the moment thing. She kept on baiting me," Martha told the camera of her red wine moment.

"If I could go back I would obviously not pour a drink on her head because that's gross. I would actually judge a girl who would do that to another girl."

Martha apologised pretty much immediately after the drink incident, but Cyrell didn't exactly accept that, telling Martha she felt she was as "fake" as "your nose, lip and boob job."

This hadn't been the first time that Martha had ended up in the middle of the group’s drama. When Jessika was contemplating a possible relationship with Dan, who at the time was with Tamara, it was her friend Martha that was really there for her.

After Dan and Jessika got together, and revealed their secret to the rest of the group, it was Martha that was the most vocal in standing up for her. Martha's husband, Michael, told the group that he would back his wife and that she was only trying to offer loyalty to her friend.

We know that Martha and Michael are one of the few couples to still be together, three years after the series of MAFS first aired. But what happened with Martha and Jessika's friendship?

Apparently, after a run-in at the Logies Awards, they no longer talk.

In a video posted to YouTube (via Heat), Martha claimed that Jess and Ines had "ignored" her and that, in a move she branded "childish", Ines had 'pretended to throw up' on her.

"I was completely taken aback because I went up to say 'hi', thinking we're on good terms. We have been speaking on Instagram and we’ve been messaging so I thought everything was sweet," she said.

Her co-stars Jessika and Ines also publicly accused Martha of cheating on Michael at the start of their relationship, but Martha strongly denied the allegations (via Daily Mail).

A few days later, Ines reportedly replied by saying: "For about a year and a half, she has been dropping low blow, degrading and vulgar comments towards me. For whatever reason, she's decided to throw Jess into it as well. I don't understand, Jess had never even had a problem with her."

In a 2019 interview with Today Extra, while talking about the on-screen drama with Cyrell, Martha admitted that she doesn't really speak to any of the cast from the show.

"I feel everyone has gone back to life the way it was before the show," she said, although she also put it down to it being a case of "life goes on" rather than it being to do with any huge scandals.

As for Martha and Michael's relationship – which was, of course, the whole point of the show – they have been assuring fans on Instagram that they're just as loved-up as ever.

In a recent post, the pair wrote: "UK & IRELAND WE LOVE YOU GUYS SO MUCH! Thanks for the all the love over the past few months. So glad you enjoyed our MAFS journey!

"Yes! We’re still together almost 3 years later."

In fact, Michael has also been asked by a fan during an Instagram Q&A, "when are you going to put a ring on that angel", and Michael replied with a coy zip-mouth emoji.

Maybe they'll be following Cam and Jules down the aisle, some time soon?

Married at First Sight Australia is airing on E4 in the UK, and is also available on All 4.
