With just two days to go until Black Friday 2020, online retailers are ramping up their pre-sale deals as more shoppers look to buy Christmas presents online during the ongoing lockdown restrictions in England.

The early bird sales hit new heights this year, with Amazon kicking off its pre-sale a whole month before Black Friday, two weeks earlier than last year’s event.

A range of retailers including Currys PC World, John Lewis, Boots, Very and AO all followed suit with deals in early November, and now others including Pandora and Dyson have joined in on the action.

With the biggest shopping event of the year looming, money consumer expert Martin Lewis has revealed his Black Friday deal predictions ahead of the sale, which falls on 27 November.

Speaking on ITV's Money Show earlier this week, he explained how his annual forecasting tool compares prices from the past decade in order to give insight on the best savings to expect this year.

"It's been difficult this year but these are our predictions – and because of the pandemic, many of the discounts are already live,” he said.

Lewis also warned shoppers to be wary of getting caught up in thousands of deals this Black Friday.

"If you're looking to buy a video game that costs £50, and it's reduced to £25 on Black Friday, then yes, it's a good deal as you'll save £25.

"But, if you're tempted to buy it just because it's on offer, then no, you've fallen into a trap,” he said.

While many of the Black Friday deals that the Money Saving Expert forecaster tool is predicting have already started, there are some offers that have yet to launch to watch out for.

It’s predicting up to 70 per cent off everything on Asos for around five days, explaining that last year it started on Thursday 28 November, the day before Black Friday. Asos has been teasing shoppers with pre-Black Friday flash sales, but has yet to announce its official offer for the big day.

When it comes to games consoles, the forecaster has predicted deals from Game on the PS4, Xbox and Nintendo Switch, again noting that the retailer’s sale started on Thursday 28 November in 2019. We’ve already seen great pre-sale deals on Amazon for the Nintendo Switch, most of which sold out already. Game has launched its Black Friday sale but has yet to reveal any deals on the Nintendo Switch, so keep your eyes peeled.

Argos has already launched its Black Friday sale which we’ve covered in our guide here, but Lewis is predicting that it will also offer a “free” voucher with purchases, lasting for about a week. The retailer didn’t offer this last year but have in previous years, so watch this space.

If you’re shopping for make-up lovers, you’ll be interested in Money Saving Expert’s prediction on Benefit Cosmetics, as it is expecting the brand to offer a 20 per cent off code across the Black Friday weekend. There’s plenty of beauty offers to shop now though, which we’ve covered in our deal guide.

When it comes to predictions on deals that are already live, Lewis highlighted offers from Amazon, Dyson, Talk Talk and John Lewis, which we’ve covered in our Black Friday guides.

It also forecasted Apple’s Black Friday offer of a free gift card with big purchases, which starts on Black Friday. But for discounts on Apple products, look to our guide to the best Black Friday Apple deals.
