We don't exactly know when Marvel's Daredevil will grace Netflix with its third season, but we do know that it will have a notably bigger cast.

The latest star to join the comic book series' upcoming instalment is The Fosters' Jay Ali, who is set to play a key role, according to The Wrap.

Ali will play Rahul 'Ray' Nadeem, who has been described by Marvel as an "honest but ambitious" FBI agent who will do whatever it takes for his family.

Marvel's head of television Jeff Loeb said that he was "thrilled" to welcome Jay aboard Daredevil. "His storyline and riveting performance will captivate our fans," Loeb promised.

Showrunner and executive producer Erik Oleson also teased a memorable turn by Ali, adding: "His moving performance in season 3 will show the world that he's a star in the making."

No pressure, mate.

Ali joins the ever-growing cast of Daredevil following the recent addition of Wolf Hall's Joanne Whalley, who's tipped to play a very important role indeed.

It was reported earlier this year that Joanne will join the series as Daredevil/Matt Murdock's mother (and nun) Sister Maggie, who first appeared in the Born Again comics arc.

Existing cast members include Charlie Cox as Daredevil, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson and Vincent D'Onofrio as Wilson Fisk.

Season three of Daredevil is expected to hit Netflix later this year, and considering filming had already begun back in November, we don't think we'll have too long to wait until it does.
