McDonald's worker 'tricked Muslim family into eating pork'

McDonald’s is facing calls for an investigation and firings after being accused of an “intentional act of religious and ethnic bigotry” by an advocacy group which claims a worker deliberately hid bacon inside a Muslim family’s chicken sandwiches.

Bacon was found in 14 chicken sandwiches ordered by a family on holiday from New York, according to the Alabama chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations.

The council says it is reviewing CCTV footage of the incident, which reportedly left the family “disturbed” and caused one adult to vomit twice.

“They started noticing it tasted different to them. They eat McChicken all the time at McDonald’s. They knew what they ordered — they know what’s in the sandwich,” said Khaula Hadeed, head of the Alabama chapter.

The family say a small piece of bacon was found underneath one of the sandwiches. They then opened all the other sandwiches, only to discover they also had bacon. Islam forbids adherents from eating pork.

“It doesn’t sound like a mistake, especially on 14 sandwiches”, said Hadeed.

McDonald’s denied the claim when contacted by The Daily Mail, insisting it was not an intentional act by a member of staff.
