Megan McKenna 'cannot believe' she’s on the Glastonbury lineup with Kacey Musgraves

Megan McKenna “cannot believe” she’s on the same festival bill as Kacey Musgraves.

The former ‘The Only Way is Essex’ star - who on Sunday (27.06.22) will become the first former ‘X Factor’ winner to perform at Glastonbury, after she won 'The X Factor Celebrity' in 2019 - is so enthused about singing on the same day as her favourite singer, country star Kacey, at the iconic spectacle.

The 29-year-old country singer told The Sun newspaper: “I love Kacey so much and I cannot believe I am performing on the same day as her.

“I met her before and she was so nice. I can’t wait to see her.”

Of her debut at Worthy Farm, south west England, the former ‘Celebs Go Dating’ star believes it's a sign the music industry are "finally accepting” of her.

Megan said: “When I heard I had been asked to play I thought, they are finally accepting me in the music industry. No matter what TV show I have been on.

“I got a lot of harsh comments when I was first doing this. People would say, ‘As if she is going to make it,’ and ‘Why does she think she can do it?’ Music was always my goal.”

The reality television personality says her new single ‘Baby Talk’ is “about not taking rubbish from a man” and admitted that she isn’t “holding back” with her music anymore.

Megan said: “'Baby Talk' is about not taking any rubbish from a man.

“I am not holding back with my lyrics this time around. Some of the songs are tongue in cheek, some are upsetting ones and some are some really powerful.

“I feel glad I had a couple of relationships because now I can write about them in my songs

“A broken heart writes the best songs and I truly believe that. Look at Dolly Parton's songs – they’re all about getting your heart broken."
