A member of British rock band that rose to fame in the ‘70s will return to Burnley next month for a special performance.

Squeeze’s singer songwriter, Chris Difford, will perform some of the band’s hits at Church on the Street Ministries (COTS), on February 5.

This is following the success of the singer’s performance at the Hammerton Street charity back in December.

Mr Difford will be singing Squeeze classic songs, such as ‘Cool For Cats’, ‘Up the Junction’ and ‘Take Me, I'm Yours’.

Tickets for the gig will cost £10 all proceeds will go towards the charity’s food bank.

A spokesperson for the charity said: “After the success of the last ‘cool for cots’ event, Chris Difford will be back on Sunday, February 5, at 7pm to perform a full concert.

“Charity founder, Pastor Mick Fleming, might even make another appearance with his mic and help Chris sing a song… or two.

“We’re asking for a kind donation of £10 towards our food bank on the evening.

“We can't wait to see you all there!”

COTS is a charity which helps people affected by homelessness and addiction.

The founder, Mick, has written an autobiography about his life and how the charity came about.

‘Blown Away: From Drug Dealer to Life Bringer’ details Mick’s former  life of crime and addiction before having a religious experience which changed his life.

An eight-part TV show is also reportedly being made about his life.

Actors and writers William Ash (Waterloo Road) and Andrew Knott (Gavin and Stacey) have been working with Mick over the last few months and are now ready to start writing the script.
