The first trailer for Steven Soderbergh's Netflix film The Laundromat has landed, and it might just boast the best cast of the year.

Oscar winners Meryl Streep and Gary Oldman are the most eye-catching names, but this biographical comedy-drama also has the likes of Antonio Banderas, Friends legend David Schwimmer, Sharon Stone, Westworld's Jeffrey Wright, The Big Bang Theory's Melissa Rauch and T2: Judgement Day actor Robert Patrick along for the ride.

The movie, which will receive its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival next month, follows Streep's Ellen Martin, who's led to a shady Panama City law firm ran by Jürgen Mossack (Oldman) and Ramón Fonseca (Banderas) after her dream vacation takes an unfortunate turn.

As her investigations deepen, she soon stumbles upon millions of files linking an off-shore tax scheme to the world's most powerful politicians.

Judging by the trailer, The Laundromat looks set to be a snappy, comedic blast with just a hint of The Wolf of Wall Street about it - notice those fourth-wall breaking nods littering the scenes.

Fans of The Big Short may also find similarities, so it's definitely looking like a project to watch out for when autumn arrives with its blustery attitude.

The Laundromat will hit Netflix on October 18.
