Mom has added a familiar face from Two and a Half Men for its series finale later this week.

The hit sitcom is due to air its last ever episode on May 13, and fresh off her stint on Young Sheldon, Melanie Lynskey will be popping up.

As teased in a preview clip (via TVLine) for 'My Kinda People and the Big To-Do', the actress will portray an AA newcomer called Shannon, who struggles to open up to the group.

"I don't have anything in common with you guys," she tells Bonnie (Allison Janney) and others. "I mean, you don't know what real problems are."

The group then laugh as they open up about their problems and history, including their respective time in jail.

Lynskey most recently appeared on Young Sheldon as Sheldon Cooper's philosophy teacher Professor Ericson, and before that was perhaps best known on TV for playing Rose on Two and a Half Men.

Before Mom's eighth and final season, the series said goodbye to cast member Anna Faris as Christy Plunkett, with Janney saying earlier this year that she was "very missed".

"It was very odd, she is very missed," the actress admitted. "Anna is missed and her character on the show is missed.

"We are just happy she is doing what she wants to do now and we are happy that we are still able to tell these stories about these great women in recovery."

Mom airs on CBS in the US.
