GLASGOW music legend Eddi Reader has announced that she will play a hometown gig as part of a Scotland tour.

The former Fairground Attraction frontwoman will play the Royal Concert Hall on April 19, 2022.

Celebrating her impressive career in music, Eddi's tour 40 Years Live promises to deliver entertainment, nostalgia, and her signature vocals.

Eddi said: “I’m delighted to be bringing this extra-special show to fans in Glasgow this spring.

“The past forty years have been a remarkable experience – I still can’t believe it’s really been that long! I’ve been lucky enough to meet and work with some incredible musicians over the years, many of whom have become lifelong friends.

“I’ve also witnessed a lot of change in the industry, the coming and going of many folk. Throughout it all, the music itself, and my love of sharing it with people, has been the constant driving force.”

Starting out with intimate performances in folk clubs across the west of Scotland, Eddi then performed backing vocals for Eurythmics in her early career.

She went on to achieve huge international success with Fairground Attraction in a decades-long musical journey.

Fairground Attraction's debut album First of a Million Kisses gave fans the iconic number one hit Perfect, for which the band won ‘Best Single’ at the 1989 BRIT Awards.

As a solo artist, Eddi has released acclaimed albums such as her take on the National Poet's works, The Songs of Robert Burns, which earned her an MBE in 2006.
