Olly Alexander is distancing himself from Rihanna’s Savage X Fenty after reports Johnny Depp is set to star in her upcoming fashion show.

The Years and Years singer, 32, is a vocal Rihanna fan and has previously modeled for her brand, appearing in her Valentine’s campaign posing in a harness and underwear.

But after TMZ reported on Thursday that Depp was set to have a “star” role in the Savage X Fenty Vol 4 showcase later this month, Alexander retweeted their article along with a sad face.

“But, “Savage X Fenty” is you baby……. you wear it so well,” responded a fan, to which the Shine hit-maker replied: “Thank you but after this news I won’t be wearing it anymore”.

Savage X Fenty Vol. 4 will include performances from Anitta and Burna Boy. Irina Shayk, Cara Delevingne, and Precious Lee are also set to feature.

Rihanna has faced a backlash after her decision to include Depp was made public, with the hashtag “DitchDepp” soon trending on Twitter and some people threatening to boycott the label.

The move marks the latest appearance by the actor in an apparent comeback into the public sphere, following his victory in the multi-million dollar lawsuit against former partner Amber Heard.

The actor sued his former partner over a 2018 article she wrote for the Washington Post about her experiences as a survivor of domestic abuse, which his lawyers said falsely accused him of being an abuser.

He sued the Aquaman actor for $50million. She countersued Depp for $100million.

Following the trial, the jury awarded $15million to Depp and $2million to Heard, however the claim was then reduced to $10.35million due to a cap on punitive damages in Virginia.

Heard is appealing the verdict, with lawyers arguing that the two rulings handed down by the jury were contradictory.
