Olly Murs has said sorry to fans after sharing a cheeky video showing him tricking his girlfriend by apparently hiding his penis in an empty Pringles container.

The TikTok video showed Murs cutting the bottom off a Pringles can and then giving his girlfriend Amelia Tank a bit of a surprise when she reached into it for a crisp.

Plenty of the star’s fans were amused by the prank, calling it “hilarious”, but some posted messages on social media saying it was a “disgusting” thing to do.

Murs, 35, has now apologised, saying he only wanted to give people a chuckle during the coronavirus lockdown.

The singer wrote on Twitter: “So I've had a few days to think about this, and wanted to apologise to anyone who has been offended by my social videos.

“My intention was only to make people smile and laugh during these trying times.

“Am wishing you all a great bank holiday remember to #bekind #stayathome.”

The video started with Murs taking the bottom off a Pringles can then cut to him sitting on the sofa with Tank, with the can perched suggestively on his lap.

As Tank reaches into the tube the video freezes and a voice says “Say hello to my little friend!”

She then seems to encounter Murs’ manhood and whips her hand out of the can.

The Voice judge Murs also shared the video to his Instagram account with the caption: “Pringles now do a variety pack.”

Murs got together with Tank in 2019 after being single for four years.
