Once Upon a Time in Hollywood: Quentin Tarantino reveals who Tim Roth's deleted character was

Quentin Tarantino has revealed the identity of Tim Roth’s deleted character in Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood.

The English actor shot scenes for Tarantino’s films, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt and Margot Robbie, but they were deleted from the comedy-drama’s final edit.

Tarantino told the Empire film podcast that Roth originally played Jay Sebring’s British butler.

“He didn’t make the cut but he’s part of the gang and I appreciate him showing up and giving his due diligence service,” Tarantino said.

He added of Roth’s unseen performance: “It was a funny little sequence but it got dropped.”

Roth has played in his fair share of Tarantino films, having scored roles in Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Four Rooms and The Hateful Eight.

Jay Sebring, a celebrity hairstylist and former boyfriend of Sharon Tate who died in the 1969 Manson Family murders, is portrayed in Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood by Emile Hirsch.

James Marsden was also initially cast in Tarantino’s latest film, reportedly as a young Burt Reynolds, but doesn’t appear in the finished version.
