Once Upon a Time has added five new stars to the show as part of its cast shake-up for season seven.

Jennifer Morrison (Emma), Ginnifer Goodwin (Snow), Josh Dallas (Charming), Jared S Gilmore (Henry), Emilie de Ravin (Belle) and Rebecca Mader (Zelena) all won't be returning as series regulars, but rest assured, the fantasy drama has brought in some new faces to hopefully make up for that.

British actress Rose Reynolds – who you may have seen on Poldark and Wasted – is joining the cast, as well as Burn Notice star Gabrielle Anwar.

Dania Ramirez (Heroes, Devious Maids) will also be in season seven, while Adelaide Kane has been announced too, after playing Queen Mary on Reign.

Lastly, Mekia Cox of Chicago Med will be seen on the show.

Anwar and Ramirez will be series regulars, while Reynolds, Kane and Cox will be recurring – at least, for the time being.

Reynolds has confirmed that shooting on the new season has begun.

It's not the last we've seen of the old characters, though.

Morrison has signed on for one episode in the new season – likely the season premiere – while Henry has aged and will now be played by Andrew J West in season seven, thanks to a time jump.

ABC has released snippets about how the show will work with only Regina, Mr Gold and Hook as returning regular characters – and it sounds like there will be new characters, a new curse and perhaps new identities.

Horowitz recently shared the episode title for the season seven premiere – 'Hyperion Heights' – and fans have been speculating about what it could mean.

Once Upon a Time airs on ABC in the US and is available on Netflix in the UK.
