Sophia Bush is set to give One Tree Hill fans a big reunion on her new series Good Sam.

The actress, who famously played Brooke Davis in the drama, is bringing in Hilarie Burton and Bethany Joy Lenz – aka Peyton Sawyer and Haley James Scott – as guest stars, it has been confirmed.

The two will play the roles of sisters Gretchen and Amy on the CBS medical drama, as they cross paths with Bush's main character Dr Sam Griffith when the latter gets admitted as a patient at the Lakeshore Sentinel Hospital in Detroit.

Good Sam itself focuses on Griffith, a talented heart surgeon who has to step up to the plate as the top surgeon at the hospital after her boss (and father) Dr Rob Griffith (Jason Isaacs) falls into a coma.

However, when he wakes up and insists on returning to surgery, she must supervise him, which proves tricky given he has never really acknowledged her talents.

The reunion news comes a few weeks after the trio's One Tree Hill co-stars James Lafferty (Nathan Scott) and Michael Trucco (Cooper Lee) staged their own mini-reunion in a park, where they re-edited a sign that partly said "one tree".

"Sign seems legit," Trucco wrote on Instagram. "Always a good day when I get to spend time catching up with my buddy/nephew @jameslafferty."

Meanwhile, Chad Michael Murray (Lucas Scott) recently touched upon the possibility of a One Tree Hill reboot.

"I've got to imagine at some point, there would be some version of (a revival)," he said. "I have an idea that's been bouncing around in my head to do a new generation of this show, dealing with today's issue."

Good Sam airs on CBS in the US.
