Oti Mabuse and Ugo Monye were voted out of Strictly Come Dancing in week five – but have we seen Mabuse perform in the ballroom for the final time?

Earlier this year, the pro dancer suggested it may be her final season on Strictly, so fans of the BBC One show may have seen her dance her final routine at the weekend.

Here's everything we know so far about whether Mabuse is coming back in 2022.

Mabuse is a fan favourite in the pro line-up at Strictly, but in April this year she dropped the bombshell that she expected this 2021 series to be her last.

“I love to dance and love bringing joy to so many people, but I think [the 2021 series] will be the last,” she told The Telegraph.

Mabuse, 31, said she loved how diverse the show was in terms of celebrities it signed up, but added: "But honestly, as a woman I can't be dancing forever."

Currently, Karen Hauer is the longest-serving female dancer in the pro cast, having joined in 2012, and Anton Du Beke had taken part in every series since the show began in 2004 until this year when he moved to a judging role.

However, all may not be over yet, as Mabuse clarified just a few weeks later that she might stay on the cast for a bit longer after all.

"I don’t know why I said that but I will take it a season at a time. I don’t know what came over me," the dancer told Metro.

She added: "The first thing that I have to say, this job that I have is one of the best jobs that I’ve ever had and Strictly for me is the most amazing experience of my life.

"It’s the professional dancers, it’s the celebrities, it’s the crew that we all feel like a family and every single year it just gets better and better."

Mabuse didn't give any further details on whether she expected to leave the cast this series when she and Monye were voted out on Sunday night, but she did talk about how much she loves her job.

She told Monye: "I stand here in this very moment feeling very, very grateful. I am so grateful to be partnered with you. Thank you for having me as a teacher, as a trainer. Seeing you through your injury, I appreciate every single moment that you’ve given to me.

"I am grateful for the show. To say I work on the best show in the whole country, with the best celebrities is a privilege and I am very grateful to [Ugo], thank you, thank you, thank you."

The jury's out on whether Mabuse was making a farewell speech, or hinting that she didn't want to leave just yet.

Rugby star Monye was Mabuse's seventh celebrity partner on Strictly.

She won the previous two seasons – in 2020 with comedian Bill Bailey, and in 2019 with Emmerdale actor Kelvin Fletcher, a stand-in contestant (she was originally matched with injured Made In Chelsea star Jamie Laing).

In Mabuse's first year on the show in 2015, she was partnered with boxer Anthony Ogogo, followed by Hollyoaks actor Danny Mac.

Next, she danced with Paralympic sprinter Jonnie Peacock, and then with England cricketer Graeme Swann before she began her winning streak.

Strictly might be the show that Mabuse is best known for, but it certainly isn't her only starring role on TV.

Before she began at the BBC in 2015, Mabuse had completed two seasons of the German version Let's Dance, where her older sister Motsi, who judges Strictly ,was also a star.

Mabuse is also one of the dance captains, or mentors, on BBC talent show The Greatest Dancer, where she has worked alongside Cheryl, Matthew Morrison and Todrick Hall.

In 2019, she took part in Celebrity MasterChef and she has also gained some younger fans through her CBeebies dance instruction show Boogie Beebies.
