Former Grey's Anatomy star Patrick Dempsey is front and centre in the trailer for Devils season 2, and it's a far cry from the romantic comedy roles he's best known for.

The series is a thriller set in the world of global finance, though the trailer (which you can see above) is more running away from bad guys in front of a Pret a Manger and leaping over cars than talking about investments and whatnot.

Italian actor Alessandro Borghi is the main character named Massimo Ruggero in the production made by Sky Italia, and he does all the running and car jumping.

Dempsey plays his former boss Dominic Morgan, although they had a major falling out during season 1 when Massimo thwarted Dominic's plan and took over his company.

Even if you haven't seen season 1, though, with all the tense dialogue between them and sinister framing of Dempsey's face in the trailer, it's clear to see that they're not best mates.

As the show's official synopsis teases, the pair have to work together when a war threatens to break out between China and the US over the private data of millions of people. Brexit, cryptocurrency, 5G and the coronavirus pandemic all feature in the plot.

Among the new and returning supporting cast members, we've got Lars Mikkelsen of House of Cards, Sherlock series 3, The Killing and he also played Grand Admiral Thrawn in Star Wars: Rebels.

Devils season 2 is coming to Sky Atlantic and NOW in the spring. You can watch all of season 1 on Sky Go and NOW right now.
