Piers Morgan hits out at Ariana Grande for not visiting Manchester terror attack victims in hospital

Piers Morgan has criticised pop star Ariana Grande for flying straight home to Florida after Salman Abedi detonated a bomb at her concert that killed 22 people and injured dozens of others.

The Good Morning Britian host caused a stir on Twitter last night when he shared his thoughts on Ariana’s reaction to the horrific attack at her show.

Dragging fellow singer Katy Perry into the mix, after she praised Queen Elizabeth II for visiting the injured who are recovering in a number of hospitals in Manchester, Piers said it “might have been nice” if Ariana had stayed in the UK and done the same.

He added: “I expected her to stay, visit and comfort her wounded fans and relatives of those who died.”

After the attack on Monday, Ariana tweeted she was “broken” and was said to be “in hysterics” as she flew home to be comforted by her family and boyfriend Mac Miller.

When asked how Piers would have reacted in the same situation, he replied: “I can 100 per cent guarantee you I would stay and visit those who had been killed or wounded watching me perform.”

When another Twitter user suggested the singer’s youth as an excuse, Morgan answered: “Twenty-three is not a child.”

After the attack, the hashtag, ‘it is not your fault Ariana’ trended on Twitter, and the star cancelled the rest of the European dates on her Dangerous Woman tour and released a statement through her manager, Scooter Braun, telling fans they will “never let evil win”.

Scooter, who also manages Justin Bieber, shared a message of hope and strength on Twitter Wednesday night (May 24).

“Tonight I got home and took my parents out to dinner. Korean bbq. We drank and ate and laughed with the tables next to us. I experienced joy for the first time in days. And I remembered…we r free. We are all different but we r free to enjoy each other’s company,” he wrote, going on to reject the notion of allowing fear to rule his life.

“I will honor those that r (sic) lost by living each day full. Full of fun, full of laughter, full of joy. I welcome the differences of my neighbor. The wish of terrorism is to take away that feeling of freedom and joy. No. That is my answer. No. We can’t allow it. Fear cannot rule the day.

“More people die each year from car crashes than terrorism. Yet I will get in my car. I will choose to live then to be afraid,” he wrote on Twitter. “So… Manchester I stand with you. Jakarta I stand with u.. children of Syria I stand with you. We will honor you by not giving in to the darkness. With extraordinary evil we must fight with extraordinary greatness. Fight on.”
