Piers Morgan warns 'hypocrites' that he is watching and will retaliate

Piers Morgan has issued a warning to high-profile people who have taken aim at him amid his Good Morning Britain exit, saying: “I am watching and I will retaliate.”

The presenter left the ITV show after sparking a controversy when he said he did not believe comments made by Meghan Markle in her Oprah Winfrey interview, which included claims about her mental health and racism within the Royal Family.

He has since stood by his remarks, saying in a post on Twitter that “freedom of speech is a hill I’m happy to die on”, and has also suggested he is the “latest ‘victim’ of the cancel culture that is permeating our country”.

Morgan has now posted a message on Twitter saying he is keeping a close eye on the backlash.

“I never miss a thing. And revenge is always a dish best tasted cold,” the TV star wrote in response to a comment from a fan.

He said in another post: “Memo to all high-profile, insufferably woke, unctuously virtue-signalling, shamefully race-baiting hypocrites: I'm watching, and I will retaliate.”

Morgan stepped down from GMB earlier this month after storming off during a heated discussion with fellow presenter Alex Beresford about Markle’s interview with Winfrey.

He has yet to confirm his next career move but it has been reported that he is at the centre of a £10m bidding war that could see him return to the US.

Writing on Twitter following reports of people petitioning for his return, he said: "I won’t be going back, but thanks to everyone who has signed these petitions.

"Normally, people start petitions to have me fired or deported, so this is a pleasant surprise."
