Platform 7 to get TV thriller adaptation at ITV

ITV has announced a major new thriller adaptation with Louise Doughty's bestselling Platform 7 set for a series premiere on streaming service ITVX.

Platform 7, a hit psychological thriller, follows the story of Lisa who witnesses a disturbing event on platform 7 of a railway station and then finds her own fragmented memory jogged to make a link between the incident and her life.

It will star Top Boy and Noughts and Crosses actor Jasmine Jobson in the lead role for the chilling tale that weaves together supernatural and real-life elements.

Jobson said: "I’m super excited to be taking the lead in this amazing psychological thriller, based on Louise Doughty’s phenomenal best-selling novel.

"I’m also thrilled that I get to show audiences a completely different side to what I can do on screen with this character."

Doughty also wrote the thriller Apple Tree Yard which was previously adaptated for TV, and last year debuuted her first written for TV script with Crossfire, starring Keeley Hawes on BBC One.

Platform 7 will make its debut at the new ITVX, which streams series many months before they appear on ITV's linear channels.

Filming has now been completed for the series and Chris Carey, executive producer and managing director at Dancing Ledge Productions which made the adaptation, said: "We are so excited that BAFTA nominated Jasmine Jobson - one of the most brilliant acting talents to emerge in the last few years – is our lead in Platform 7.

"Powerhouse screenwriter Paula Milne’s brilliant scripts, based on Louise Doughty’s best-selling novel, have also attracted a stunning supporting cast alongside Jasmine; Toby Regbo, Yaamin Chowdhury, Reece Ritchie and the incomparable Phil Davis also star and this combination, along with our superb creative team behind the camera, promise to deliver a properly compelling story that will delight and surprise audiences on ITVX later this year."
