All Points East 2021 line-up: Tickets set to go on sale as Jamie xx and Kano confirmed as co-headliners

One of London’s biggest festivals, All Points East, is coming back this summer.

It’s set to take place in its usual home of Victoria Park in east London, but at a later date than usual, shifting itself to the August bank holiday, and spread across just one weekend instead of two.

Dance music favourite Jamie xx will co-headline on Saturday August 28 alongside grime legend Kano — making it something of a homecoming show for the latter, who grew up in nearby Newham.

They will be joined by producer-singer-songwriter Tom Misch, rappers Slowthai and Little Simz, rising vocalist Arlo Parks, saxophone supremo Nubya Garcia, BBC Sound of 2021 winner Pa Salieu and Romy of The xx, among others. The full line-up is below, with further names set to be announced soon.

Tickets will go on pre-sale from 10am on Tuesday March 9, with general sale commencing at 10am on Wednesday March 10. Head to allpointseastfestival.com/tickets to buy them.

News of All Points East’s return is another shot in the arm to London’s festival scene, which is looking to revive itself after the devastation of the pandemic. Tickets for other festivals in the capital, such as Field Day, Gala and Mighty Hoopla, have been selling out in record time, buoyed by the Government’s plan to remove all restrictions of social contact from June 21 at the earliest.

There is still significant concern in some sectors of the wider festival industry about whether or not planning for the events will be able to continue without government-backed insurance in case of a Covid-caused cancellation. It was hoped that such a scheme would be announced in the Spring Budget, although nothing materialised. The Association of Independent Festivals has warned that many events could be forced to cancel unless they are given insurance by the end of March.
