Police hunting a man who pushed a commuter on to tracks at a tube station and also attacked two other people have issued a series of pictures in a bid to track down the perpetrator.

At least three people were attacked by the same man in London on Thursday (27 October).

In the first of the incidents a man was assaulted at Baker Street station at 11.50am.

A few minutes later, at around noon, the suspect pushed another man onto the tracks at Finchley Road station.

Two of the victims were taken to hospital, but none sustained serious injuries and they have now been discharged, the force said.

Police said detectives do not believe the man or any of the victims were known to each other, but they said it had been reported that the suspect was often seen in the area with gaffer tape strapped around his leg.

They released a series of pictures in a bid to identify him, but urged anyone who recognised him not to approach him, but to call police.

Detective Inspector Paul Watts, from British Transport Police, said: "Following these concerning incidents, we want to trace this man at the earliest opportunity and we are appealing for the public’s help to establish his whereabouts.

"Our investigation is continuing at pace and there will be a highly visible presence of officers in the area throughout the weekend to provide reassurance to the travelling public.

"We now believe the man is responsible for a third assault yesterday, and we are today releasing even clearer images of a man we’d urgently like to trace in connection with these incidents.

"Additionally, we know he was wearing a distinctive hat with markings on the back.

"If you see someone matching this image, please contact police urgently by calling 999. Please do not approach them."
