Prince Harry Is Photographed During Surprise Visit to Africa

Earlier this week, we learned that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will visit the U.K. in September, marking the first time the couple has been across the pond since they attended Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee back in June. But now, it looks like the Duke of Sussex is squeezing in another international stop before they embark on their trip.

Author and Queen's University Belfast faculty member Eric Morier-Genoud shared a snap of the royal to his Twitter account, where the duke was spotted in the coastal town of Vilanculos, located in Mozambique. In the photo, Prince Harry stands next to an untagged man, while sporting a gray polo, blue shorts and a baseball cap. In his caption, Morier-Genoud wrote, “Prince Harry is in Vilankulos.”

According to The Daily Mail, the Duke of Sussex stayed at the Vilanculos Beach Lodge for three days. While it is unclear why he made this surprise trip, the site reported that he was seen perusing local tourist destinations, as well as speaking with the President of the Tourism Association, Yassin Amuji. Prince Harry previously visited Mozambique back in 2010, when he visited with the Halo Trust charity.

Next month, Prince Harry is set to travel overseas again, where he and Meghan Markle will make stops in Manchester, Düsseldorf and London. They will begin with a visit to the One Young World 2022 Manchester Summit from September 5th to September 8th, followed by a trip to Germany for an event honoring the upcoming 2023 Invictus Games in Düsseldorf. Then, the duke and duchess will return to the U.K. to attend the annual WellChild Awards.

We always love a surprise Prince Harry spotting.
