Platinum Jubilee Concert line-up: Diana Ross to perform for the Queen

Diana Ross is reported to be the headline act at a special concert to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.

The 78-year-old singer – known for hits including Upside Down and I'm Coming Out – has reportedly joined the line-up of the Platinum Party at the Palace on Saturday 4 June, along with George Ezra and Queen guitarist Sir Brian May.

According to The Times, You Can't Hurry Love singer Ross will close the show, which will take place on on a circular platform at the Victoria Memorial in front of Buckingham Palace.

The concert, to mark the Queen's 70 years on the throne, will be broadcast live on BBC One with Kirsty Young and Roman Kemp hosting coverage of the event.

The full line-up is due to be confirmed later this week.

Ross – who is due to appear in the 'Legends' slot at Glastonbury music festival this year – has not performed in the UK since 2007.

She was meant to tour the country in 2020 , but had to postpone the shows due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Platinum Party at the Palace will kick off her UK Thank You tour, continuing throughout June and July.

Disco star Ross rose to fame as the lead singer of girl group The Supremes in the 1960s, with hits including Baby Love, Stop! In The Name Of Love and Come See About Me.

She went on to have a successful solo career spanning five decades, with hit singles including Reach Out And Touch (Somebody's Hand), Ain't No Mountain High Enough and Endless Love with Lionel Richie.

Other events to mark the Queen's Platinum Jubilee being broadcast on the BBC over the bank holiday weekend include Trooping of the Colour on Thursday 2 June, followed by Platinum Beacons – the lighting of beacons around the country later that same evening in honour of the Queen.

On Friday 3 June there will be a live broadcast of A Service of Thanksgiving from St Paul’s Cathedral in London.

The Queen's Platinum Jubilee Celebration began with a special show aired on ITV on Sunday 15 May from an open-air arena in Windsor with The Queen in attendance.

Guests included Dame Helen Mirren and Tom Cruise.
