Yahoo News Real Marigold viewers end up slamming Boris Johnson
The Real Marigold Hotel continued tonight (August 8) on BBC One, and it's probably not the best of episodes for Boris Johnson to recover from.
In the second episode of the series, the famous pensioners – Selina Scott, Susan George, Stephanie Beacham, Ian and Janette Tough, Syd Little, Peter Dean, Bob Champion and Stanley Johnson – were settling into their new home and embracing life in Udaipur, India.
They received a grand invitation from the Maharanah and were invited to mingle with Udaipur's high society at the City Palace, ending the week with a trip to the northern state of the Punjab to visit the magnificent Golden Temple in Amritsar, one of India's holiest cities.
As ex-I'm a Celebrity star Stanley went back in time to revisit the Temple he last went to in his student days, viewers couldn't help but notice one thing in particular.
While his son, and the UK's former foreign secretary, Boris Johnson caused controversy this week for remarking that Muslim women wearing the burka "look like letter boxes", Real Marigold Hotel fans were proud of Stanley for embracing different religions and cultures.

"Stanley Johnson amenable, accepting & respectful of Indian customs & religions in the Marigold programme," one viewer noted. "What happened to Boris!!!?"
Stanley, along with the other senior citizens, joined in in some of the traditions of the Sikh faith, discovering the sense of giving and strength of community at the heart of Sikhism.
"I think there's a tremendous community spirit here," Stanley reflected at the end of the programme. "Honestly, this is the most amazing phenomenon. As the gentleman was telling me today, it's not just Sikhs who are coming here. It's people from all religions, or no religion. That's extraordinary.
"For me, the real joy was even though I know I was here 60 years ago, it all came as a surprise. I live in an age of unbelief – I don't think there is a lot to be said for belief – but when I see the crowds of people here that want to believe, I was impressed."
With just two episodes left, The Real Marigold Hotel continues next Wednesday (August 15) at 9pm on BBC One.
