Reese Witherspoon says she doesn’t get why people think she and daughter Ava Phillippe look alike as she doesn’t see it herself.

The actress, 46, shares Ava, 22, and 18-year-old son Deacon with her ex-husband, Ryan Phillipe.

With their matching blonde hair, bright-blue eyes, and dimpled smile, it is no surprise that the Legally Blonde star is frequently inundated with comments about how similar she and her daughter look.

She addressed the issue during an appearance on Today with hosts Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager, who referred to her and Ava as “twins”.

“She and I don’t see [the resemblance] that much,” she told the hosts.

While the internet may not agree with her, it seems her ex-husband does.

“Obviously, there is a father-son resemblance,” actor Ryan said of Deacon.

He added that the teen “actually looks a lot more like Reese’s side of the family. Ava looks more like mine.

“Quite often, the interpretation in the media is that she looks exactly like her mom and he looks exactly like me, but I think we both feel differently about it,” he previously shared with E! Online.

It’s interesting given Witherspoon admitted last year that she liked being mistaken for Ava.

During an interview with Gayle King for InStyle, she explained: “Well, I love being mistaken for her because it makes me feel so young.

“I am so proud of her. She really rolls with it. I’m sure it’s not easy looking exactly like your mother.”

King interjected: “Reese, stop it! When Mama looks like you, it is very easy.”
