Riverdale's ensemble cast have officially reunited for season 2.

The acclaimed teen drama will come back to screens in October this year, despite only premiering in January.

Indeed, the quick turn around means the band have had to get back together pretty sharpish and, as such, production has already started, with this picture posted by Archie Comics' official Twitter page confirming the cast and crew have come back together for a table read.

The snap was also shared on Instagram earlier today (June 21) by photo-taker Madchen Amick, who plays Alice Cooper.

Noticeably absent from the table read is Luke Perry (aka Fred Andrews), who was shot at the end of series one, so make of that what you will.

However, series regulars KJ Apa, Cami Mendes, Cole Sprouse, Lili Reinhart, Marisa Nichols, Casey Cott and Madchen can all be seen in the image, as well as showrunner Roberto Aguirre Sacasa.

Two new exciting cast members can also be seen in the picture.

These include Charles Melton, who is replacing 13 Reasons Why star Ross Butler as Archie's rival Reggie, and also Mark Consuelos, who joins the cast as Veronica's dodgy dad, Hiram Lodge.

Earlier this week, Madchen posted another picture of herself on location at Riverdale, this one right outside Pop's Chock'lit Shop.

The location just so happens to be the scene where Fred Andrews was shot. Hmmm...

Riverdale returns October 11 on The CW.
