Ronan Keating has expressed support for his son Jack Keating ahead of his arrival on Love Island as part of the Casa Amor cast.

Keating wrote "let's go" on his Instagram Story while sharing a photo of the 23-year-old social media marketer, who he shares with ex-wife Yvonne Connolly.

Jack is one of the six new boys introduced to the show in an attempt to entice the existing contestants away from their partners while they are living in the separate villa.

Speaking ahead of his arrival on the show, Jack said his dad will "for sure" tune in to support him, adding: "He’s buzzing for me. Me and my dad are very close, we’re best mates".

The former Boyzone singer shared a throwback picture on Instagram, comparing a photo of himself in his younger days to Jack, showing the clear resemblance.

He had previously fielded awkward questions about rumours his daughter Missy was being lined up for Love Island, discussing the possibility on Good Morning Britain.

"I haven't heard anything but you never know, these kids are busy," Keating said, adding: "All my kids, they're all busy doing different things. I haven't heard anything myself at the moment".

Keating then joked that he didn't think he'd be able to watch the show if any of his kids decided to take part.

Jack is the second of this year's islanders to have a famous family connection, joining Michael Owen's daughter Gemma in the cast of the reality show.

Owen is set to get another shock during Casa Amor as she already follows one of the other new arrivals, Billy Brown on social media.

Her relationship with partner Luca Bish was already tested when producers introduced her ex-boyfriend Jacques O'Neill — a rugby player for Castleford Tigers — into the villa.

This has caused little tension, however, with Bish and O'Neill becoming close friends and O'Neill choosing to couple up with Paige Thorne.

Casa Amor is a highly anticipated part of the annual Love Island series, with some of the most dramatic moments in the show's history focused around the recoupling in which contestants choose whether to return to their original couple or select one of the new arrivals.

Last year's Casa Amor saw numerous shocks in the wake of a postcard sent to the main villa, showing the boys kissing various new arrivals.
