Sabrina the Teenage Witch original cast reunite to wish Netflix reboot cast ‘best witches’

The original cast of 1990s sitcom Sabrina the Teenage Witch have reunited to send a special message to the cast of the newly-rebooted Netflix series.

Melissa Joan Hart, who played Sabrina Spellman from 1996-2003, filmed a special video message for the incoming cast of The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina alongside some surprise guests.

Hart was joined by her former castmates Nate Richert, who played her on/off boyfriend Harvey, Beth Broderick and Caroline Rhea, who played her aunts Hilda and Zelda.

“So tomorrow, the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina drops on Netflix. And I just wanted to send my best witches to Kiernan Shipka, a.k.a the new Sabrina Spellman,” said Hart.

“By the way, from one Sabrina to the other… if you're ever given a choice between a broom and a vacuum, choose the vacuum.”

Richet gave a shout-out to actor Ross Lynch, who has taken over the mantle of Harvey, saying: “The new Harvey, Ross Lynch.

“I hear the new Sabrina is scarier and pretty damn twisted. I'm rooting for you buddy. Stay alive!”

The new version of the hit franchise takes a darker turn for the 2018 audience and has been dubbed “tonally in the vein of Rosemary’s Baby and The Exorcist.”

The reimagined series tells the story of the origins and adventures of Sabrina in a dark coming-of-age story.

Kiernan Shipka takes the lead role as Sabrina with Lucy Davis and Miranda Otto as aunts Hilda and Zelda Spellman.

Michelle Gomez stars as Mary Wardell, or Madame Satan, while Jaz Sinclair is Rosalind Walker, Sabrina’s best friend.

The series is available on Netflix now.
