If you need something to serve as an antidote to all the smush of Valentine's Day week, Sky have you covered with the first trailer for Save Me Too (aka, Save Me series 2) and it's very grim and gritty.

Following on from the events of series 1, Nelly Rowe (Lennie James) is still looking for his daughter and it looks like he is getting more and more desperate to find her. We already know that his journey across the second series will take him right into the heart of the criminal underworld.

Meanwhile, everyone around Nelly is convinced that his daughter is dead and he needs to give up and get on with his life. But, as the trailer promises, "the truth will out."

It's not all moody and serious though, the opening scene where Nelly gets wished a happy birthday and is gifted an identical yellow jacket to the one he already has made us laugh a bit more than we probably should have, given the rest of the content.

James, Suranne Jones, Stephen Graham, Jason Flemyng, Susan Lynch, and multiple other cast members from series 1 are returning, with Maleficent and Mum star Lesley Manville joining the show as Jennifer Charles, the wife of Adrian Edmonson's Gideon.

Even more exciting than the trailer is the news that the second series finally has a premiere date, you'll be able to catch it on Sky Atlantic and NOW TV from April 1. That's only a month a half away!

This week, Sky have also announced Martin Freeman comedy Breeders begins on March 12, Maisie Williams is starring in a dark comedy called Two Weeks to Live and Billie Piper is surely going to win awards for I Hate Suzie.

Save Me Too will be available on Sky Atlantic and NOW TV from April 1.
