Sir Rod Stewart has revealed he secretly battled prostate cancer two years ago.
The rocker, 74, told how he was diagnosed with the disease during a routine check up.
Sir Rod – who is married to Loose Women panellist Penny Lancaster – has now urged men to visit their doctor to get regular tests.
He made the revelation while appearing at a fundraising event with former Faces bandmates Kenney Jones and Ronnie Wood, the Mirror reports.
He reportedly told the crowd: “Two years ago I was diagnosed with prostate cancer.
“No one knows this, but I thought this was about time I told everybody. I’m in the clear, now, simply because I caught it early. I have so many tests.”
He added: “Guys, you’ve got to really go to the doctor. Finger up the bum, no harm done.”
Sir Rod then hugged Wood, 72, as the crowd applauded. The Rolling Stones guitarist told him: “Somebody up there likes us, Rod.”

The duo later performed together, playing Sir Rod’s hit (I Know) I’m Losing You.
The charity event was raising money for the Prostate Project and the European Tour Foundation, at the Wentworth Club in Surrey.
According to the Prostate Project, the cancer kills 30 British men each day.
Nearly 47,000 men in the UK are told they have prostate cancer each year.

Men are twice as likely to get prostate cancer if they have a family history of the disease, which is diagnosed through a prostate specific antigen (PSA) test, biopsies and physical examinations.
Early signs of it have limited symptoms, often linked to urination.
Sir Rod, who has eight children, said he managed to get through his treatment by keeping positive and smiling.
Actor Stephen Fry revealed last year he had had his prostate removed after being diagnosed with cancer.
