The latest '90s series that could be revived is cult sci-fi classic Sliders.

John Rhys-Davies, who played Professor Arturo, revealed that he and co-star Jerry O’Connell have had talks with NBC about a potential reboot of the show.

“Jerry had been pestering me for a number of years and we’re actually talking to NBC at the moment to see if there’s any possibility of rebooting the series,” Davies told Flickering Myth.

“They’re looking into the basic question of who actually owns it. At the moment we don’t seem to be able to find that out.”

Davies exited the show midway through the third season and has since confessed that the decision was "the single biggest missed opportunity" of his life.

The actor now says he would be up for returning to a revamped version, if it was 'right'.

“I would do it again, if just to show how it should be done," Davies continued. "It could have been the best show on television, it could still be on the air.

"I think maybe if we got another chance at doing it with the new technology, but also new stories, I think we could do something quite extraordinary. I wouldn’t want to do it for the rest of my life, but I would do it for a season or two if it was right.”

Last year, O'Connell spoke to Digital Spy about the possibility of the series being revived.

"I bet it happens," he said. "The guy who created it – a guy named Tracy Tormé – called me recently and said they were planning on it. I hope he gets it together – I'll help out any way I can."

However, O'Connell added he didn't expect to take the lead role this time around. "I mean, there's no way I'll be the star," he continued.

"I'm sure I'll be playing the star's dad or something! Or the kid's grandfather. 'Back in my day, we knew how to slide... we knew what was what...'

"It's so funny, when that show ended, you think, 'Well that's that. That was that chapter of my life'. But it's never over, I guess!"

Sliders premiered on Fox in 1995 and ran for three seasons before moving to the Sci-Fi Channel for its final two seasons.
