Yahoo News The Sopranos and Sex and the City star Bruce MacVittie dies, aged 65
Bruce MacVittie, who had roles in The Sopranos and Sex and the City has passed away at the age of 65.
The actor's death was confirmed by his wife Carol Ochs, who told the New York Times that Bruce has passed away on Saturday, May 7, at a hospital in Manhattan. No cause of death has been disclosed.
Bruce began his acting carer in the theatre in 1980, starting with a leading role in Edward Allan Baker's 'What's So Beautiful About a Sunset Over Prairie Avenue?' at the Ensemble Studio Theater in Manhattan.
His big break came when he made his Broadway debut in 1983 opposite Al Pacino in David Mamet's American Buffalo. The production went on to tour nationally and moved to London's West End.
Speaking to the New York Times, Pacino said: "I loved Bruce MacVittie. His performances were always glistening and crackling; a heart and a joy to watch. He was the embodiment of the struggling actor in New York City, and he made it work. We will miss him."
Bruce is credited as one of the co-founders of theatre troupe Naked Angels, whose members have included Gina Gershon and Marisa Tomei.

Sarah Jessica Parker's brothers Toby and Pippin were also co-founders of the troupe and it's where Sarah met future husband Matthew Broaderick.
On television, Bruce had numerous guest roles throughout his career, including as Danny Scalercio, the juror responsible for Uncle Junior's acquittal, on The Sopranos season four.
In season two of Sex and the City he played Alan Miller, a man who goes on a date with Miranda that ends abruptly when he turns out to be married.
His most recent role was in Ava DuVernay's Netflix series When They See Us.
Bruce is survived by his wife Carol and their daughter Sophia Oliva Ochs MacVittie.
