For those hoping to see Lieutenant Worf star Michael Dorn in Star Trek: Discovery, we have some bad news for you.

He was reported to be involved in the show, and it has emerged that talks did take place, though he is most definitely NOT going to be in the series.

Clarifying quotes he said at an event at the Orlando Shakespeare Theater, Dorn's publicist revealed that he had "a couple of conversations with producers last summer" (via Trek Movie).

They added that there are "no plans for him to appear at this time" in the upcoming series as an ancestor of Worf.

"I can tell you with 100 percent certainty that Mr Dorn did not say he was going to be on the new Star Trek show," critic Matt Palm, who was in the audience at the event, further explained to Trek Movie.

"In fact, he went to great lengths explaining why he would not be on the new show – that there had been interest expressed, but he was not offered enough money."

Dorn was apparently offered "less than 1 percent" of the money he made last time, which was Star Trek: Nemesis in 2002.

Meanwhile, the actual confirmed cast of Discovery recently appeared together for the first time, pictured eating out.

That includes Jason Isaacs (Discovery's Captain Lorca), Michelle Yeoh (Shenzhou's Captain Georgiou) and Chris Obi (Klingon T'Kuvma).

Also boarding the Discovery will be Sonequa Martin-Green, Doug Jones, James Frain and Shazad Latif.

Star Trek: Discovery will air on CBS in the US and Netflix in the UK.
