Steven Seagal has been accused of sexually harassing Portia De Rossi during an audition for one of his films.

The Arrested Development actress alleged in a tweet that Mr Seagal had told her how important it was to have “chemistry off-screen” before unzipping his trousers.

She said she ran out of his office and called her agent, who was “unfazed”.

The full tweet read: “My final audition for a Steven Segal movie took place in his office. He told me how important it was to have chemistry off-screen as he sat me down and unzipped his leather pants. I ran out and called my agent. Unfazed, she replied, ‘well, I didn’t know if he was your type’.”

Mr Seagal, 65, is the latest Hollywood figure to be accused of sexual harassment after women began making public allegations against producer Harvey Weinstein.

Mr Weinstein is under investigation in London and the US, although he has denied all accusations of non-consensual sex.

Ms De Rossi, who has been married to US talk show star Ellen DeGeneres for nine years, did not specify which film the audition was for or when the incident took place.

Ms DeGeneres shared the tweet with her 75 million followers with the caption: "I am proud of my wife".

Mr Seagal's manager told BBC News that he had no comment. The Standard has contacted them for further comment.
