Stacey Dooley's former Strictly Come Dancing co-stars have celebrated her West-End stage debut in the acclaimed play 2:22 A Ghost Story.

Dooley announced on Instagram that she'd joined the play for a limited run yesterday, sharing a photo of her promotional poster alongside the caption: "Delighted! Can't wait to get my teeth into Jenny.

"@222aghoststory ….a sincere thank you, can't wait to do this together….let's go!"

The 2018 Strictly winner was congratulated by her friends and co-stars on the career move, with many taking to the comments to share their joy at the news.

"You're going to be great!" wrote Laura Whitmore, while Strictly professional Lauren Oakley commented: "An icon."

"Love this play! Deffo coming to see this. Well done sis," commented former Strictly contestant Joe Sugg.

Dooley's husband Kevin Clifton also joined in the congratulations, sharing his own Instagram tribute. "Could not be more excited for my girl's west end debut! So unbelievably proud," he wrote.

"She's going to be amazing in @222aghoststory. A show that I love!!! Love u @sjdooley Let's all go and see her!"

Dooley has been cast in the role of Jenny. Jenny is a new mother who believes her house is haunted and desperately tries to prove it to her husband Sam, longtime friend Lauren and her new partner Ben during a dinner party.

She joins The Inbetweeners star James Buckley, who is reprising his role as Ben. Casting for the roles of Sam and Lauren are yet to be announced.

The production will run for 10-weeks at the Gielgud Theatre, tickets are available to purchase here.

Tickets for 2:22 A Ghost Story at the Gielgud Theatre go on sale on April 24. The play will run from May 25 through to August 4.
