Strictly Come Dancing has shared clips of this year's contestants getting their sparkly makeovers ahead of the series launch.

The videos posted on Instagram show Kym Marsh, Helen Skelton and co walking into the frame dressed in their normal day clothes and with little or no make-up on.

They click their fingers, twirl, jump or shake the Glitterball over themselves and are suddenly transformed, with glam hair, make-up and sequinned, sparkly outfits.

"And just like that... our celebs have been Strictlified!" said the caption.

Fleur East, who goes from wearing work-out clothes to a twinkly fringed number, said the "sparkly switch up" was the "best feeling ever".

While Ellie Simmonds, who snaps her fingers and swaps jeans and a top for a turquoise dress, wrote: "Loveeee this!!

"Look at us."

"God we’re stunning," quipped comedian Jayde Adams, who traded in casual tracksuit bottoms for smart white trousers with braces and a shimmery shirt.

The series gets under way tonight (Friday 23 September) after being delayed because of the Queen's death and funeral.

The first episode will be the launch show, which is the only pre-recorded instalment of the BBC ballroom programme.

The first live show will then take place on Saturday night (24 September).
