Pretty Little Liars reboot Original Sin has cast Supergirl's Sharon Leal and Mulan's Lea Salonga ahead of its debut.

The show also recently confirmed that Straight Outta Compton's Elena Goode, Orange Is the New Black's Zakiya Young and The Good Doctor's Carly Pope are on board the project, too.

The newbies join existing cast members Bailee Madison (Good Witch), Lethal Weapon's Chandler Kinney and Maia Reficco (Kally's Mashup).

Set 20 years after a series of tragic events threatened to destroy the blue-collar town of Millwood, high school students Imogen (Madison), Tabby (Kinney) and Noa (Reficco) become the unsuspecting targets of an unknown Assailant who claims to have ties to their parents.

Leal will play Tabby's single mother Sidney, who works in real estate to support her daughter and her friend Imogen. Goode will portray nurse Marjorie, who is also Noa's parent, while Salonga takes on Elodie, Minnie's (Malia Pyles) overbearing mother.

Lastly, Young plays Corey, Faran's (Zaria) newly single mother, who tells everyone she's a lawyer when really she's a paralegal and Pope will play Davie, Imogen's (Madison) mum.

Loosely based on Sara Shepard's series of novels of the same name, Pretty Little Liars followed the lives of four different girls, Aria (Lucy Hale), Spencer (Troian Bellisario), Emily (Shay Mitchell) and Hannah (Ashley Benson), who drift apart due to the disappearance of their leader, Alison (Sasha Pieterse).

One year later, the group find themselves coming back together, as an anonymous figure known only as 'A' starts terrorising them.

The original show aired between 2010 and 2017. Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin marks its second sequel series, following spin-off Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists, which premiered in March 2019.

"We're such huge fans of what I. Marlene King and her iconic cast created, we knew that we had to treat the original series as #CANON and do something different," Original Sin bosses Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Lindsay Calhoon Bring said in a statement when the show was first announced.

"So we're leaning into the suspense and horror in this reboot, which hopefully will honour what the fans loved about the hit series while weaving in new, unexpected elements."

Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin is expected to premiere on HBO Max in 2022.
