The Taken TV show is at that point in the third act where it looks almost impossible that Bryan Mills will somehow rescue his loved one from the evil terrorists. But it's not over just yet!

NBC signalled that it would be cutting the cord on Taken last month when it pulled the series from its already-not-great Friday timeslot, with an eye to burn off its final season two episodes on an even-worse Saturday night timeslot over the summer.

The Peacock Network wouldn't comment on the future of Taken at that time, but most people assumed the show was a goner. That POV was confirmed on Friday (May 11) when NBC officially axed the show.

But just like its heroic leading man, Taken is poised to potentially make a surprise comeback. Variety reports that producers EuropaCorp TV USA and Universal Television are actively looking for a new home for Taken.

While Taken had tepid ratings and lacklustre critical reviews in the US, producers feel that it could still succeed on another platform because of the international interest in the larger movie franchise.

The action-adventure series follows Clive Standen as a younger version of Liam Neeson's movie hero Bryan Mills, as he hones that dreaded 'particular set of skills' in deadly missions for the CIA.

Taken has undergone both creative and cast changes this past year, with much of its first year cast being cut from the show in favour of re-focusing it around Clive Standen and Jennifer Beals.

Amazon Prime Video streams the Taken series in the UK.
