Taskmaster has replaced one of its contestants for the next few weeks due to illness – though they've brought in a familiar face as a substitute.

Channel Dave reassured viewers who were left somewhat confused by the most recent episode, explaining that Katy Wix was not feeling well, so Kerry Godliman would step in her place until she returned later in the series.

"No, your eyes haven't gone weird: poor @wixkaty is off this week for poorliness reasons, so magnificent former #Taskmaster champ @KerryAGodliman is here in her place," they revealed. "Katy will be back later in the series!"

Katy also updated fans, tweeting: "I'm better now. Thanks for the concerned messages. Sadly, I'm not there next week either, but then I'm back. #poorlyegg".

Meanwhile, stars Greg Davies and Alex Horne recently dished on the key to doing well on the show, the latter explaining: "It's a type of comedian thing. Mark Watson and Paul Sinha have been exactly the same – very, very clever, and very, very thick.

"Whereas someone like Bob Mortimer has come out the other way in that he's maybe not as cerebral – he's a very clever man, but he's just practical and can do all the things so won by miles just by being a normal man.

"Be a normal person [is the key]. And women are better than men, definitely."

Taskmaster airs on Wednesday nights at 9pm on Dave.
