Teen Wolf star Arden Cho has spoken out publicly following reports she won't be returning for the franchise's movie.

For many fans, the excitement that the hit MTV show is being revived has been dampened by the news that not everyone from the original show is included.

Missing from the 11 cast members signed up for the Teen Wolf film have been Cho (who played Kira Yukimura), Dylan O'Brien (Stiles Stilinski) and Tyler Hoechlin (Derek Hale).

Deadline has reported that Cho rejected an offer for Paramount that would have seen her paid less than the three other female actors who'd signed up. Cho's character Kira was the sole female POC among that group.

Paramount has not commented on why Arden Cho, Dylan O'Brien and Tyler Hoechlin haven't been brought back in the initial casting project.

While Arden didn't address these issues directly, she did seemingly acknowledge support from fans in a tweet on Wednesday (February 16).

"Love you, wish I could give you all hugs," she wrote.

Cho has received tremendous support for her choice not to return to Teen Wolf, with one fan writing: "I'm so proud of you Arden for fighting what you believe in and knowing your worth. I love you."

Another added: "You deserve more respect and half what the rest of what your actors are making is very very [wrong]."

One fan pointed out that Kira had always been "such an amazing and important character" who had not been "really appreciated her in the way she deserves".

The returning cast for the Teen Wolf reunion movie was unveiled this week as part of Paramount's slew of investor day announcements.

Returning will be Crystal Reed, Holland Roden, Colton Haynes and Shelley Hennig, along with series lead Tyler Posey and others.

While Cho is not expected to be involved in the movie, she has recently been cast as the lead in Netflix's adaptation of Helen Wan's Partner Track novel.

Teen Wolf's film spin-off will be written by showrunner Jeff Davis. A release date hasn't been announced.
