'The Crown' season 5 casts 'Humans' and 'The IT Crowd' star as Princess Anne
The Crown season 5 has cast actor Claudia Harrison in the key role of Princess Anne.
The 45-year-old star, who also previously appeared on The IT Crowd and Murphy’s Law, was seen in character on set as filming for the Netflix series continues at Scotland's Covesea Lighthouse.

In the scene, Harrison was walking alongside Imelda Staunton, who is taking over from Olivia Colman in the role of Queen Elizabeth II.
During her time on the windy set, she was also seen sharing time with Theo Fraser Steel, whose role is not confirmed but is believed to be Timothy Laurence, the Princess’s second husband.
Harrison works as an associate teacher at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts (RADA) and has previously starred in blockbusters including 2005’s Archangel alongside Daniel Craig.

Her new role will see her join a new line-up of Royals, with Princess Anne previously being played by Erin Doherty.
As is tradition with the biographical series, the cast is completely turned over every two seasons to allow a time jump between eras.
Season four of the show ended in December 1990, with the beginning of the dissolution of Prince Charles’ marriage to Princess Diana.

Other new additions to the cast include Trainspotting actor Jonny Lee Miller, who will play Conservative Prime Minister John Major as the show roars into the 90s.
The Crown season 1-4 are available on Netflix.
