Dirty Dancing celebrity superfans are set to take on some of the classic film's most iconic dances in new reality TV contest, The Real Dirty Dancing.

The E4 show has signed up 10 famous faces to learn some of the film's moves and compete in couples against each other to be crowned the winners of the series.

Based on an Australian TV show of the same name that has also aired in the US, it sees the celebs move into a lakeside resort reminiscent of holiday camp Kellerman's where Baby (Jennifer Grey) fell in love with her dance teacher Johnny (Patrick Swayze) in the 1987 film.

Well-known stars including Anthea Turner, James "Arg" Argent and Lee Ryan will pair up to take on the famous lifts, twists and dips on the film's dances in the hope of being the last Baby and Johnny standing.

Joining TV presenter Turner, Towie star Arg and Blue singer Ryan in the cast will be reality TV star Marnie Simpson and social media star Saffron Barker who previously competed in Strictly Come Dancing.

Other celebrities moving into camp include actor Chelsee Healey, Gogglebox's Tom Malone Jr, quizzer Bobby Seagull and comedians Darren Harriott and Verona Rose.

We don't yet know who'll be paired with who, but whichever two couples make the final will take on the famous Dirty Dancing overhead lift in the last dance of the season with their celebrity competitors as backing dancers.

The Real Dirty Dancing will be hosted by Keith Lemon and Ashley Roberts, and offers the contestants dance expertise from creative director of Dreamboys Jordan Darrell.

The Real Dirty Dancing is set to launch on E4 this February.
