The driver of this car had a miraculous escape after walking with only cuts to his head.

These terrifying pictures show a red Peugeot crushed under an HGV, with the coupe’s windscreen completely shattered.

And while the driver had a lucky escape, medics said it was lucky no-one was in the passenger seat, which was completely crumpled by the massive truck.

The crash happened on the A446 near Dunton Island in Warwickshire, where the driver of the sports car had suffered cuts to his head.

West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “A man in his 40s, who was a patient in the car, had cuts to his head and was taken to Heartlands Hospital.”

“It was incredibly lucky there wasn’t a passenger in the vehicle.”

Three fire crews attended the crash, and Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service tweeted a picture of the dramatic scene with the message: “Always wear a seatbelt, it might just save your life.”

A spokesman for Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Thankfully the driver walked away with minor injuries but he was incredibly lucky to do so.

“Please drive carefully and make sure you are always wearing your seatbelts.”
