So Transformers and Friday the 13th share a universe?!

So it seems like the rebooted Friday the 13th film and the Transformers series might actually exist in a shared universe.

This bit of mind-blowing weirdness, uncovered by Bloody Disgusting, revolves around a secondary character who appears in Transformers, and then two years later in Marcus Nispel's Friday the 13th reboot.

The character is Trent DeMarco played by Travis Van Winkle. In 2007's Transformers, the first of the big screen series, DeMarco is introduced as the douchey boyfriend of Megan Fox's Mikaela Banes, who won't let her drive his truck and flicks an elastic band at Shia LaBeouf's Sam Witwicky – the monster!

Mikaela subsequently dumps him and he is never heard of in the franchise again.

So what happened to Trent? Something totally dark, it would seem.

Two years later, Trent DeMarco – played again by Van Winkle – turns up at Camp Crystal Lake and is offed by none other than Jason Voorhees. Rough justice, but no-one messes with Mikaela.

Coincidence? Unlikely, since Transformers director Michael Bay is one of the producers on Friday the 13th.

Is it possible then that Trent isn't the only Transformers character to have fallen victim to Voorhees' blade?

This fan theory based on a segment of Transformers: The Last Knight indicated that Sam Witwicky, who hasn't been in the franchise since Transformers: Dark of the Moon in 2011, is probably dead in the Transformers time line (because Laura Haddock's character is told she is the last descendent of the Witwicky line).

Could it be that the oft-rumoured new addition to the Friday the 13th universe (which probably isn't happening) could have featured Sam Witwicky getting horribly skewed by Voorhees?

Now that would give us a reason to watch it...
