When is Trinkets season 2 out on Netflix? Release date, cast, trailer and plot revealed

Trinkets is returning to Netflix for a second season - but it's also going to be the last instalment of the show.

Based on Kristen Smith's novel of the same name, the hit drama follows three teenage girls - Elodie, Moe and Tabitha - as they form an unlikely friendship, bonding over their mutual shoplifting habit.

The first season of the teen drama premiered in the UK last June, and left fans reeling after things were left open-ended. But luckily there's not much longer to wait to find out how things pan out.

When is Trinkets season 2 released on Netflix?

The second instalment of Trinkets is slated to be released on the streaming platform on Tuesday, August 25.

It is expected that, like the first season, there will be ten new episodes, which will drop at the same time.

A source told Hollywood Reporter that the series will have a "natural conclusion" following a glut of cancellations from Netflix.

Who's in the cast?

The new series will see out three unlikely anti-heroines Elodie (Brianna Hildebrand), Tabitha (Quintessa Swindell) and Moe (Kiana Madeira) return for one last round.

Elodie's dad Doug (Larry Sullivan), her step-mum Jenna (Dana Green) and her step-brother Spencer (Parker Hall) are also likely to return, alongside Moe's mum Vicky (October Moore), Tabitha's dad Whit (Linden Ashby), her mum Lori (Joy Bryant), and Sabine (Katrina Cunningham).

Other members of the cast will include Jacob Skidmore as AJ, Austin Crute as Marquise, alongside Luka (Henry Zaga), Brady (Brandon Butler), Noah (Odiseas Georgiadis)

The series will also welcome newcomer Chloe Levine as Jillian, a clarinet player that catches Elodie's eye.

What will the second season be about?

The end of the first series saw Elodie's relationship with her father hit rock bottom after he informs her he's sending her to a facility in Seattle to help her deal with her shoplifting compulsion.

Elsewhere, Moe stole a bottle of vodka after she learned she was rejected from her dream course, while Tabitha could find herself in a whole heap of trouble after ignoring threats from Brady that he will tell the police that she stole his car.

Things may also get bumpier for Moe, as her father has since been released from prison and she struggles to reconcile their relationship.

As we see Moe and Tabitha questioned by police, and Elodie desperately returning to shoplifting, we can tell things are only set to get worse for our threesome before they get better.
