Trump supporter's racist rant at Muslim family on holiday in Texas

A Muslim family - including three children aged four and two - were subjected to a barrage of racist abuse by an apparent Donald Trump supporter while on holiday at a beach in Texas.

Noria Alward posted footage of the verbal attack by Alexander Jennes Downing, from Connecticut, in South Padre Island on YouTube.

She wrote: "While enjoying our time at the beach during a family reunion, our kids and us had to experience ugliness and aggressiveness in the worse shape and form possible."

Two women on the beach asked her father to help stop a man from harassing them, she said, and so he did.

All my father said to the guy was "please enjoy your time and have fun and let everyone else here enjoy their time", she wrote.

The man, who appeared to be drunk, initially walked away, but returned and yelled at the family and can be heard shouting: "You're a f****** Muslim, m*****f*****.

"You will never ever, ever stop me, my Christianity from rising above your sharia law. Your sharia law don't mean s*** to me."

He also squared up to a male member of the group and continued: "ISIS don't mean s*** to me, m*****f*****.

"Donald Trump will stop you! Donald Trump will stop you! Donald Trump will stop you m******f*****.

"Donald Trump got you m*****f******. Watch... watch."

Another witness to the episode on the beach can be seen throughout the 20-minute rant trying to encourage Downing to stop and leave the family alone.

He walked away again and returned almost immediately, pounding his chest, saying: "My country is the greatest country in the God damn world.

"Donald Trump m*****f*****. Come f*** with Donald Trump. That's my m*****f****** president."

Downing was arrested by police later the same day - 3 May - and was charged with public intoxication.

Ahmed, a member of the family, wrote in an email to Buzzfeed News: "When he called it his country. It is my country too. America is my country whether he likes it or not."
